Even if the programming language you are using is not case sensitive (case insensitive) still use correct case when referencing identifiers.

There are several ways that this will make you a better programer. One way is that it will make it easier for you to identify your variables, functions, and sub routines at a glance. Making you a faster and more accurate programmer.

It will also cut down on case issues when switching between languages. For instance a programmer using VBScript (case insensitive) may need to build a small peice of javascript to interface with an AJAX process or do some client side form field validation. Javascript being case sensitive could give a sloppy VBScript programmer trouble.

Also by paying attention to your identifier case and programming accurately your code will look nicer and, lets face it, eventualy someone is going to see your code.

There are enough benefits to using correct case even when not required to that all programmers will benefit from setting this as a personal requirement.
